How to play
Create the room
Open trivia.trackxp.com on the biggest screen around and hit Host. Pick a template — Quick (1 round), Normal (3), or a full 5-round night — or build your own pack.
Phones in, code up
Players scan the QR code or type the 4-letter room code in their phone's browser. Split into teams or play solo — the host can rename, move, and manage players live.
Play the night
Questions sync to every screen. Answer on phones; scores, reveals, and leaderboards play out on the big screen. The host controls the pace — reveal, next question, next round.
Round types
Mix and match round types when you build a pack — every night can play differently.
🔤 Multiple choice
The classic. Timed questions, points per correct answer, harder questions worth more.
✍️ Fill-in
No choices, no luck — type the answer. Great for movie quotes, capitals, and "name that year".
🎵 Music rounds
Real 30-second song previews play on the big screen — name the song and artist before the clip ends.
🎬 Picture rounds
Movie stills and posters, or upload your own images for custom picture questions.
🐑 Don't Be a Sheep
Contrarian scoring: correct answers that fewer people picked score more. If 7 players pick the obvious answer and you nail the rare one, you bank the round. Chaos guaranteed.
⚡ Speed pressure
Configurable question timers (5–120s) keep the room honest — no table-talk marathons.

Is TrackXP Trivia free?
Yes — playing and hosting are free. There's nothing to install: the game runs entirely in the browser.
Do players need an app or an account?
No. Players scan a QR code or type the 4-letter room code into their phone's browser and they're in. Accounts are optional — they add a ⚡ verified badge, saved packs, and play history.
How many people can play?
From 2 players on a couch to a whole bar. Teams are supported, and the audience view casts to any TV so the room can follow along.
Can I write my own questions?
Yes — build custom packs, use the 293+ built-in questions, import from Open Trivia DB, or submit questions to the community library (reviewed before they appear).
How do the music and picture rounds work?
Music rounds play real 30-second song previews via the iTunes Search API; picture rounds use movie stills via TMDB or your own uploaded images.
